प्रधानमंत्री उज्ज्वला योजना (पीएमयूवाई) भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा 1 मई 2016 को गरीबी रेखा से नीचे (बीपीएल) परिवारों की महिलाओं को 50 मिलियन एलपीजी कनेक्शन वितरित करने के लिए शुरू की गई थी। इस योजना के लिए ₹80 बिलियन (US$920 मिलियन) का बजटीय आवंटन किया गया था। इस योजना को 2021 में उज्ज्वला योजना 2.0 द्वारा प्रतिस्थापित किया गया था। हालाँकि इस योजना ने स्वच्छ खाना पकाने की तकनीकों तक पहुँच का विस्तार किया है, लेकिन प्रदूषणकारी ईंधन का उपयोग आम है, खासकर ग्रामीण भारत में।

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme Benefits:
भारत सरकार द्वारा PMUY कनेक्शन के लिए नकद सहायता प्रदान की जाती है – 2200 रुपये (14.2 किलोग्राम सिलेंडर कनेक्शन के लिए/ 5 किलोग्राम सिलेंडर कनेक्शन के लिए 1300 रुपये)। नकद सहायता में शामिल हैं:
- सिलेंडर की सुरक्षा जमा – 14.2 किलोग्राम सिलेंडर के लिए 1850 रुपये/ 5 किलोग्राम सिलेंडर के लिए 950 रुपये
- प्रेशर रेगुलेटर – 150 रुपये
- एलपीजी नली – 100 रुपये
- घरेलू गैस उपभोक्ता कार्ड – 25 रुपये
- निरीक्षण/स्थापना/प्रदर्शन शुल्क – 75 रुपये
इसके अतिरिक्त, सभी PMUY लाभार्थियों को तेल विपणन कंपनियों (OMC) द्वारा उनके जमा मुक्त कनेक्शन के साथ-साथ पहला LPG रिफिल और स्टोव (हॉटप्लेट) दोनों निःशुल्क प्रदान किए जाएंगे।

- Step 1 – Collect the application form from the nearest LPG distributor or download it from www.pmuy.gov.in
- Step 2 – Fill up the form
- Step 3 – Submit the form at the LPG distributor office
- Step 4 – Once the application is submitted, it will be processed. An LPG connection will be issued by various oil marketing companies once documents are verified and eligibility is checked.
